End-of-Day Review: Which Numbers to Check

This page only explains how to read the numbers on the simulator account panel after the close. No directional advice, no predictions. Quotes are delayed about 15 minutes, for practice only, not real-time quotes, not investment advice.

First, trades closed today: how many closed, how many profitable

The account panel's closed-today cell shows how many trades were closed today and how many of them had net P&L above zero; a closed trade with zero net P&L counts toward the trade count only, not the profitable count; opens and blocked records do not count. Count the trades before looking at the money, so a single result does not dominate the review.

Then, three P&L numbers: realized, unrealized, total

Realized net P&L for the day is the net result of trades closed today; unrealized net P&L is all open positions marked at mid-price minus opening fees; total net P&L for the day is the sum of the two. With no closes and no positions, total net P&L shows $0.00.

Then, remaining allowance: how many opens left, how far from the fee breaker

The remaining-allowance cell shows how many more opens are allowed today and how much fee room is left before the breaker: the limits are at most 3 opens per Eastern trading day and a fee breaker at $60 of fees in one day; when the discipline checkbox is off, the cell says the limits do not apply.

Check the discipline: did anything hit a limit today

No new opens are allowed after 15:30 Eastern; after 15:55 Eastern the page prompts you to close the day's positions and offers a close-all button; the simulator never auto-closes, the decision stays with you. In review, check whether any open happened during the no-new-open window and whether any daily open or fee limit was hit — the numbers do not judge, they only show whether the rules held.

The numbers are only simulation

The paper account lives only in browser localStorage and can be reset in one click, restoring $10,000 of virtual funds; review P&L is simulated results, not real returns, and does not predict future performance.

Fees and margin basis

Fees are $0.65 per contract per side, and all P&L is shown net of fees; margin locked on a short open is a simplified simulator basis of 20% of the strike price, not a broker's real margin, and it is released on close.
